I'm Barbara Lee and I'm here to tell you some great news. I am a 75 year old grandmother and have recently achieved a lifelong goal. I have just published my first novel and have the sequel ready for publication. This is very exciting for me and my family.
I am an artist, showing at Southern Breeze Gallery in Jackson, Mississippi. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, I grew up in rural Illinois, moved south with my young family in 1964 and now live in a little country cabin in Hillsboro, Mississippi. I have five children and eight grandchildren.
My little cabin in the boonies and my buddy Baby, who walked on his front legs much of the time, because his back legs are partially paralyzed since birth but he disappeared last year and I still miss him. We acquired a new lady dog, because someone abandoned her (one of the prices we pay for living in the country). After having 17 puppies in 2 litters she has been spayed. I went looking for a new friend on Pet Finder for a small dog. I wanted a lap dog that would like staying indoors. A shelter in Greenwood had a Corgi/ Chihuahua so I applied to adopt her. My neighbor and I made the trip to Greenwood to pick up my new puppy and she was a sweetie named Bandit. Well, the Chihuahua didn't make an appearance in Bandit and she doesn't like indoors. She loves being outside playing with Pearl. Pearl is so patient with her and even lays on her back and lets Bandit climb all over her. I will still look for my lap dog but Bandit is fun and she does come in at night and sleep beside my bed. She's just too big to cuddle and she's not a kisser. She loves feet and grabs at my feet to get her belly rubbed.
