$24.95
Karen Sutton was the only lady cop on a small town police department in Dinsmore, Illinois. Her partner was Ed Hawkins. She retired several years after her husband was killed in anauto accident. Painting had been her hobby for many years and now she decided to get into the art world as a professional and went to a workshop. She met a world famous artist/instructor John Whitcomb and he became interested in her artwork. While there she received news of her best friend, Margie Sloan’’s mysterious death. This brought her and Ed back together to investigate the death. Much of what goes on in the little town happens or is talked about at the local Café. Many of the local towns people become involved. Karen stays busy with preparations for her first art show in Chicago and the investigation, while her friendship with Ed becomes serious.
This is the continuing saga of Karen and Ed Hawkins both retired cops from the small Illinois town of Dinsmore. We witness their relationship and interactions with many of the townspeople. We rejoin their story as they reminisce with one of their old friends about the year they went on their honeymoon. After dealing with an abandoned youngster and his father, they decide to go on their postponed honeymoon. They travel in an RV to California, Arizona, and New Mexico. Much of their time on the trip is spent keeping up by email and phone with the activities in Dinsmore and Chicago. Leaving the southwest they visit other places of interest until they return home to their friends and neighbors where they continue their good life dealing with among other things, weddings, births and deaths of friends and neighbors.
